It’s after dinner, and I couldn’t decide what today’s Quarantini should be. A few days ago, I made a pan of brownies, and I have one left, so I wanted something that would be good with a brownie. That means a fruity drink was out. But I want something creamy and maybe with Bourbon (since that is my go to when I can’t decide what to drink).
That’s when I remembered a recipe I had heard of a long time ago from a friend : Milk Punch.
Yes, it has milk. Yes, it is amazing with brownies. Yes, it contains things that you probably already have in your kitchen.
There are 2 different kinds of Milk Punch – clarified and creamy. This is the creamy one. I loosely based it on this recipe, and a few others I had seen online.
Milk Punch
1 ounce bourbon (I used Larceny)
Splash of rum
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 dash vanilla extract
3 ounces half and half (or Milk, but it won’t be as creamy)
Put all ingredients into a a shaker with ice. Shake until very cold. Pour into glass and sprinkle the top with nutmeg.
And because I wanted something a little more festive looking, I lined the rim of the glass in sprinkles, but that is totally optional.
