Ah, the root beer float. A classic summer treat for all ages. So even though it doesn’t feel like summer today, it still a good day for a dessert cocktail.

It can be difficult to find hard root beer, but trust me, it’s worth the effort. And one of the best things about this recipe is that you can mix and match whatever flavors you want, based on what ice cream you have in your freezer.

Boozy Root Beer Float:

2-3 scoops ice cream (I used King Cone‘s International Vanilla Cafe)
1 hard root beer
1/2 oz. dark rum or bourbon (optional)

Put ice cream into your favorite beer mug. Top with hard root beer.
