All this week, I’m sharing my go-to cocktails to make at any cocktail party. Next up: The Russians.
If you’ve spent any time with me either in person or on the radio, you know that I LOVE coffee. So there has to be a cocktail with Kahula. Don’t be deceived by their simple ingredients or how smooth they sip – each of the Russians has a kick.
Black Russian:
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. Kahlua (or your favorite coffee liqueur)
Pour ingredients over ice in an old fashioned glass, and stir gently to combine. Garnish with cherries.

Often, when people think of White Russians, they think of the movie The Big Lebowski. Many years ago (2008!) I had the pleasure of going to Lebowski fest – a festival at a bowling alley devoted entirely to the movie The Big Lebowski! This happened to be the year that Chef Duff from Ace Of Cakes was there and made a speciality cake just for the occasion. Check out these pics!

White Russian:
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. Kahlua (or your favorite coffee liqueur)
1 1/2 oz. heavy cream (or half and half if you want to lighten it up)
Pour ingredients over ice in an old fashioned glass, and stir gently to combine.
