Perhaps one of the best showman and performers in rock, the late Freddie Mercury would have turned 75 this week.  Known for his flamboyant  lifestyle on and off the stage, Freddie was and still is a phenomenon in this genre of music.  After joining Brian May and Roger Taylor to form Queen in 1970 and adding bassist John Deacon in 1971 it didn’t take long for this quartet to skyrocket  into a whole different sound and stratosphere to become one of the top acts in rock and roll. I can still remember dropping the needle on their debut album and listening to “Keep Yourself Alive” and “Seven Seas Of Rhye” to get hooked on their sound straight away. And seeing them live was just an outer body experience enjoyed by their world wide fan base. And maybe a few don’t know this about Queen…they had a huge hand in ushering the era of music videos to promote their singles and albums and reflect the band’s ever changing styles.  And to see how Queen took the art of music promos to different heights. check this out…
