Disney+ Is Ready To “Let It Be”

Get ready: The Beatles’ 1970 film “Let It Be” will be heading to Disney+.  It has been remastered by Peter Jackson, who last worked on the film “Get Back.”

This will mark the first time the film, initially directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, will be available in over 50 years. It was first released a month after The Beatles broke up and a week after the album version of “Let It Be” was released.

“Peter Jackson sees Let It Be and his Get Back as companion pieces,” Hogg recently told Penny Black Music. “He thinks it’s very important that they are both out in the world. It’s shorter and simpler, but because there isn’t as much in it, it’s easier to focus on certain things. Get Back is like a great novel, and Let It Be is like a great short story.”

It will hit the streaming platform on May 8.
