I, as the Program Director of WGLX, go to great lengths each week to make sure that our music is diverse in the way it’s presented each day. For instance, it drives me nuts when I see two grunge songs or two power ballads back to back.
That’s why this A-Z weekend is such a release for me- it’s out of my hands! The alphabet dictates how we will rock all weekend long- and it’s gonna be glorious.
Whether it’s an hour of songs that all start with the word “Love” or almost 2 hours of songs that begin with “Don’t” or songs with the exact same title back to back- (I’m looking at you “Learning To Fly”) or the fact this is the only time we’ll play a Dio fronted Black Sabbath song (Neon Knights) right after an Ozzy fronted Sabbath song (N.I.B)- this weekend is filled with interesting quirks and trends and I’m so here for it.
I hope you will enjoy rocking out with us starting at 10 am on Friday and running all the way through Monday night, and I hope you’ll have those “hey! That was cool!” moments right along with all of us here.
