In a year dominated by pop, country, and hip-hop, only 29 rock albums made the Top 200, with most being greatest hits collections.
However, a 47 year old album was the best-selling rock album of 2024.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album “Rumours” was that best-seller, landing at No. 34 on Billboard’s year-end chart.
Other notable non-greatest-hits rock albums on the chart included Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and AC/DC’s “Back in Black.”
