If you’re sad that MTV doesn’t really play your music videos anymore, cheer up!

After MTV shut down its remaining 24-hour music channels globally at the end of 2025, a fan launched a free website called MTV Rewind, hosting over 27,000 classic music videos and vintage commercials from MTV’s history.

MTV Rewind is organized into channels that offer a chronological journey from the network’s launch in 1981 to the 2020s, including shows like Yo! MTV Raps and Headbangers Ball.

The site is ad-free and promises to remain free forever, with an option for viewers to support the creator through donations.

Paramount Skydance’s cost-cutting measures following a merger led to the shutdown of MTV’s dedicated music channels in various countries, while MTV Classic and MTV Live remain available in the US.
