A rare, unreleased Led Zeppelin record that the band wanted destroyed has surfaced on Antiques Roadshow in the UK.
Led Zeppelin enforced a strict no-single rule in the UK and focused on releasing full albums, but Atlantic Records pressed around 500 copies of the single “Whole Lotta Love” in the US.
The band’s manager ordered the batch to be recalled and destroyed, but some copies were not returned.
The owner of the record received it in the early 1970s and its value has been estimated at around $1322 despite him playing it at discos where it “cleared the dance floor.”
The owner plans to give the record to his daughters after having it for 55 years.
