The Beatles will release a deluxe box-set edition of their 1965 album ‘Rubber Soul,’ featuring previously unreleased recordings, including a “songwriting work tape” of “Day Tripper.” The shared version of “Day Tripper” features Paul McCartney and John Lennon playing the song on acoustic guitars at Lennon’s house, with audible moments of them figuring out the song and breaking down giggling.
The recording includes false starts and raw moments of the song’s creation, providing a unique insight into the Beatles’ songwriting process. The reissued version of Rubber Soul, including these unreleased recordings, is set to be released on October 2nd by Apple Corps/Capitol/UMe.
