Let’s all stand up and be counted and celebrate the 40th anniversary of AC/DC’s “For Those About To Rock” album released in November of 1981. It was the band’s seventh album to be released globally and the second album featuring new front Brian Johnson . This album featured such timeless classics as the album’s title cut along with “Let’s Get It Up”, “Snowballed”, “Put The finger On You”, and many other signature AC/DC classics. With the album’s release in November the band began their tour in support of “For Those About To Rock” in October, 1981. Not only was the album a great jam, but having it on cassette to play in the car was the only tape played for a long time! (We played it going to the AC/DC concert at the old Met Sports Center in November of 1981 and all of us were pretty hoarse-throated by the time we arrived! AC/DC played to a packed house at the Met…most of the concert-goers were still wearing their Rolling Stones tour jerseys due to the fact the Stones played the night before at the Civic Center! (What a Rock and Roll holiday that was!) AC/DC released their 18th album last year “Power Up” and still have the chops as they did 40 years ago. So…pick up your balls and load up your cannon for a twenty one gun salute to AC/DC…
