Ah, cassette tapes. I remember sitting down in the early 90’s an popping one in to my boom box (or my Walkman), waiting for my favorite song to play. Using a pencil to “fast forward” to where I wanted the song to start. But to be honest, I wasn’t all that upset when the technology moved forward – first to CD’s, then to mp3’s, and now to streaming.
But apparently, some artists want to play into that nostalgia and bring back cassettes. In 2023, we can expect some cassettes to be issued from artists like Iggy Pop, Paramore, and They Might Be Giants.
Which probably would not have made me think that cassettes are making a comeback. Until I saw this…
