George Thorogood is scrapping part of his 50th anniversary tour after being “diagnosed with a very serious medical condition.” A statement posted to the rocker’s website went on to say the diagnosis forced him to have “immediate surgery,” which will be followed by “quite a few weeks of recuperation and healing.”
The specific medical issue causing the surgery and concert cancellations was not revealed. Eighteen Canadian and U.S. dates of the tour will be affected, although the tour plans to be back on the road for a Wisconsin show in mid-July.
