The Foo Fighters this morning announced a new album. But Here We Are is the band’s first album since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year.
The band calls the album “A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year” – as well as “a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family”.
The first single, “Rescued”, seems to reference Hawkins’ death in its opening lines: “It came out of nowhere, it happened so fast… is this happening now?”
There is some speculation as to who was on the drums for the album, and so far, they band hasn’t said anything about it. Check out a clip:
But Here We Are will be out June 2nd and is available for pre-order now.
