Alice Cooper’s follow-up to 2021’s Detroit Stories will get as close to a live album as one can get – without actually recording it live, that is.

Road will feature all the members of Cooper’s touring band, who attempted to lay down their tracks in one take, he says. “I said, ‘I wanna show this band off,’” Cooper recalls. “So we did an album in the studio, and very, very, very few overdubs in it, because the band’s so tight. And I wanted them to all do the writing with me. I said, ‘Everybody, bring in songs, ’cause I want everything in-house.’ I mean, it’s a great guitar-driven rock and roll album. I’m very, very proud of this album.”

Plus, true to its title, the album’s songs chronicle life on the road, Cooper says. “There’s a lot of funny stuff on there,” he reveals. “There’s a couple of heartbreakers. I think when you hear the album, you get a feeling of what it’s like to be on the road.”

There’s no word yet on a release date.  And be sure to see Alice in concert Wednesday, May 3rd at the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwaukee.
